With so many products on the market for hair care, it confusing what approach you should take – there is always some new product that claims to be the best in the world – but what are the general rules of hair care?
You should always use quality shampoo and conditioner – there are many types available so get one that suits your hair – colured, dry, frizzy, and greasy – it will help keep your hair in the best condition.
If you use hair straightners or curling tongs then you expose your hair to extreme temperatures, therefore it’s essential to use a heat protection spray. There is bound to be one in the same brand of your shampoo, but all work in the same way. It gives your hair the extra protection that is needed to prevent your hair becoming dry and brittle and in some cases snapping off.
You should also get your hair trimmed regularly, even if you are trying to grow it. Your hair becomes dry and damaged on the ends which will result in ‘split ends’. Having these trimmed will make sure that you hair looks in tip top condition and will also assist with growth.

There are many myths about what causes spots such as chocolate, stress, PMT and many more. There are case studies that say these things cause spots and others that say they don’t, however, no matter what the cause may be the worst thing is – we still all get them – however, here are some ways to prevent them.
Firstly you should always clean your face thoroughly, the removal of makeup is essential so that your pores do not become blocked. It is worthwhile to invest in a good face wash, that will remove any traces of dirt and bacteria build up that can cause those nasty red pimples. There are many face washes on the market but you need to choose one to suit your skin type – if you have sensitive skin then do not get a strong and aggressive wash.
Secondly, by splashing your face with cold water once a day you can prevent you spots appearing, this is because, the cold water helps keep your pores closed as it causes them to contract.
You can also try not wearing makeup for a few days a week, if your just in the house, don’t bother putting it on – makeup is the cause of many spots. If you get a spot, don’t smother it in concealer to hide it, this can cause more damage than good.
Finally, do not squeeze spots – this can cause permanent scarring when done on the sensitive skin of the face.
